Her MA thesis was a qualitative exploration of  the ways that non-professional care workers manage their emotions,  focusing on the feeling rules and structural influences that shape  emotional labour in paid care work. Lisette is currently a <span class=\"has-inline-color has-color-accent-mod-color\">Ph.D.  candidate<\/span> in the department of Community Health Sciences at the  University of Manitoba under the supervision of Dr. Kelly, and her  thesis investigates choice and risk among older adults and their carers  in the Self and Family Managed Care program in Manitoba. Lisette has  been a research assistant in seven projects examining topics that  include home care systems, violence and care, and experiences of care  among older adults, informal carers and family, and care workers. In  2018 Ms. Dansereau was awarded the Jack McDonnell Award for Research in  Aging from the Manitoba Centre on Aging and received fellowship support  from the University of Manitoba Faculty of Graduate Studies.<br><br><strong>Research  Interests:<\/strong> Home care, care work, caregiving, emotion, health systems and  policy, critical gerontology, relational sociology, feminist care  theory, knowledge mobilization.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"alignwide-wrap\" data-block=\"media-text\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-media-text alignwide has-media-on-the-right is-stacked-on-mobile\" style=\"grid-template-columns:auto 23%\"><figure class=\"wp-block-media-text__media\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"768\" height=\"960\" src=\"https:\/\/dfresearch.ca\/christinekelly\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/KB-Head2021.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-621 size-full\" srcset=\"https:\/\/dfresearch.ca\/christinekelly\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/KB-Head2021.jpg 768w, https:\/\/dfresearch.ca\/christinekelly\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/KB-Head2021-240x300.jpg 240w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 768px) 100vw, 768px\" \/><\/figure><div class=\"wp-block-media-text__content\">\n<p class=\"has-normal-font-size\"><strong><span class=\"has-inline-color has-color-accent-mod-color\">Kevin Balkaran<\/span><\/strong> (he\/his) is an emerging researcher in Canadian health and healthcare policy. Highlights of Kevin\u2019s appointment include assisting in the preparation of several grant proposals to competitive funding agencies, summarizing academic articles to the public, developing high quality infographics, and communication management. They completed their honours BA at the University of Winnipeg in Women\u2019s and Gender Studies (2019).
